Current problems with the ticket

Cell phone ticket is not automatically extended

For students who have switched to the new version of the NAH.SH app or for whom the new app has been installed as part of the automatic update settings, the automatic extension of the Deutschland-Semesterticket to the following month does not work. The reason for this is a technical error due to the extensive update of the NAH.SH app. The error affects all smartphones/operating systems (Android and iOS) and also other products, in particular the Jobticket. However, the error does not occur if the old version of the NAH.SH app or the DB Navigator is still being used.

How to solve the problem quickly and easily

The easiest way is not to update the NAH.SH app for the time being. However, if the app has already been updated, the solution is to actively trigger the background update of the cell phone ticket once. Once this has been done, the ticket will update automatically at the end of each month as usual. This is therefore a one-off action.

This is how it works:

  • Activate Internet/ WLAN.
  • Open the semester ticket in the NAH.SH app.
  • In the cell phone ticket, tap the date/ticket number displayed in the header at the top left three times in quick succession. The mobile ticket for the following month is loaded immediately.
  • That's it! The Internet connection can now be deactivated again if required.
  • The loaded ticket can be used offline as usual.

Alternatively, the semester ticket can be removed manually and then added again by entering the ticket number and surname. We expressly do not recommend this method, as it is easy to forget the ticket number. In addition, there is currently an error on some Android devices, also as a result of the app update, in which the keyboard is not displayed and therefore adding the ticket fails. In this case, the only solution is to load the mobile ticket into DB Navigator.

Changes in the NAH.SH app

Increase of the minimum technical requirement for iOS (Apple devices) to version 16.7

The required version of iOS for using the new NAH.SH app has been increased to 16.7 (previously 15.7).
à All iPhones of models 8 and higher are supported.

The minimum requirement for Android devices remains unchanged at version 8.0.

There are currently fewer than 500 active users of the NAH.SH app with an older iOS version - it is not possible to evaluate how many of these users have a cell phone ticket or use the Deutschland-Semesterticket. It can be assumed that very few, if any, are affected. Affected students have the following options:

  1. Use the cell phone ticket in the old NAH.SH app - this is possible until at least the end of 2025.

  2. Load the cell phone ticket into DB Navigator, which is compatible with iOS 15.1 and higher, and use it there (select the "Travel" menu item in DB Navigator and then the plus symbol).
    à This option should only be communicated on request.

Cell phone tickets are stored elsewhere

Due to a change in menu navigation, cell phone tickets are stored in a different location in the new NAH.SH app (see screenshot).

The Deutschland-Semesterticket can now be found under the menu item "Job | SeTi".

Uniform price: The Deutschlandticket semester ticket is issued nationwide with a uniform discount of 40 percent on the regular price of the Deutschlandticket. The price of the Deutschlandticket is 58.00 euros, which means 208.80 euros per semester for the Deutschland-Semesterticket. In the event of future price adjustments to the Deutschlandticket, the price of the semester ticket would be automatically recalculated according to the formula above.

Issue only in the solidarity model. This means that all students at a participating university receive a Deutschlandticket and pay for it via the semester contribution.

The ticket as a chip card

If you are unable to use the semester ticket with your cell phone, you can apply for it as a chip card ticket via the AStA.

If you have problems with your semester ticket, here are the instructions for solving them.

In some cases, cell phone tickets are not extended to the next semester or the next calendar month despite an active internet connection. You can solve this problem yourself by taking the following steps:

Temporarily deactivate your WLAN; an active internet connection is required.

Open your mobile ticket.

Make a note of the 9-digit ticket number, which you will find on the third page of the cell phone ticket, at the bottom under "Ticket no.".

Now remove your semester ticket from the NAH.SH app by selecting the three dots in the header of the open ticket and selecting "Remove".

Close the NAH.SH app.

Please open the NAH.SH app again and add your semester ticket again. To do this, use the menu item "Semesterticket" and then "Add semester ticket" - enter the ticket number you wrote down and your date of birth.

You can now reactivate your WiFi connection.
